Fruit Basket of Fine Iron Sculptured with a Single Hammer

Employing the traditional technique of 'tankin' (hammering), it's almost unbelievable that one artisan using one hammer could create such an inspired piece of art out of iron. Notice the beauty of its silhouette when the bowl is placed on a table and illuminated by a lamp. It is designed to resemble the patterns left in sand after a wave has come in, swept over it, and gone back out. If you look closely at the MIGIWA you can just about make out the slight surface indentations created by the hammering process. A wonderful center piece for the dining table, the MIGIWA makes a perfect fruit basket, a fabulous stand alone piece of sculpture, and a very unique gift.
