Fine Porcelain Cup & Saucer finished in Azure & Genuine Embossed Gold

“EMBOSSING” is one of Okura Art China’s original techniques. Using a roller, relief designs are ‘stamped’ onto the surface of each soft porcelain piece in preparation for genuine gold (23k) to be hand-painted post-process. The piece is then glazed (covering the relief) before being placed in the kiln at 1460℃. After firing, gold (23k) is applied to the designs and the piece fired again. As this ornamental technique is extremely delicate and complex, and requires a great deal of skill, Okura Art China believes it is an important asset that cannot be accomplished by other companies.
Using their “AZURE COLORING” technique, cobalt blue paint is applied evenly to the lip of the both the cup & saucer and fired at the exceptionally high temperature of 1460℃. The paint sinks into the glaze to give each finished piece a gorgeous glossy, deep blue accent.
