For The Beauty and Future - Japanese Rose, Given as the gift of nature.

In the summertime, the coastline of Urahoro in Hokkaido is carpeted in a color of brilliant red-purple. Approaching the area as invited by the sweet fragrance, you will find the vast expanse of a Hamanasu flower field. The flower, a rose native to Japan, has its official scientific name as Rosa rugosa and also known as Japanese Rose.

Long ago, the indigenous tribe Ainu in Hokkaido utilized the rose growing naturally in the sandy coastline for various purposes. It is said to be that they made a tea from its petals as a source of vitamin C, wore its scent as a fragrance soothing their minds, and ate its rosehips for restoring fatigue. We have created a brand “rosa rugosa” producing organic cosmetic products from natural ingredients including the native rose, HAMANASU.

We conduct our business to make use of the gifts of nature, found by the wisdom of the predecessor and nurtured by the local culture. By doing this, we would like to communicate our messages to the modern society of the world from Urahoro, Hokkaido.
