Hydrogen molecules have been reported to enhance sleep quality (a perceived extension of sleep duration) in women experiencing stress.*2 This is the first time in Japan that a product using “hydrogen molecules” as a functional ingredient has been accepted by the Consumer Affairs Agency as a Foods with Function Claims product. A review was prepared based on clinical research using this product. In a study involving 29 healthy women experiencing stress, participants consumed 3 sticks per day (hydrogen molecules 0.9 mg/day) for 4 weeks. Evaluation using the OSA Sleep Inventory showed that, compared with the placebo group (jelly containing air), the intake group demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in sleep quality.
